New Delhi, May 26 IT company NIIT Technologies Ltd on Monday announced a collaboration with National Aviation Company of India (NACIL) and Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) consortium for implementation of a Cargo Operations System to support the consortium’s cargo handling operations at the new Bangalore International Airport.
“This collaboration to implement a system at the new airport reiterates our technology services leadership position in the travel and transport sector,” Mr Arvind Mehrotra, SVP & Business Unit Head (Asia Pacific and India), NIIT Technologies said.
NIIT Technologies has helped develop and implement Cargo Operations System (COSYS) for SATS in the North and West Asia regions.
“Today, the SATS-owned COSYS is a mission-critical, 24X7 application and is one of the few cargo management systems in the world that can integrate closely with the airline cargo reservations system.
“Once implemented at new airport, COSYS will bolster the operational efficiency of the AI SATS Airport Services and will facilitate better monitoring and enhanced control of the end-to-end cargo handling operations,” a company statement said.
Additionally, the system is expected to improve staff productivity by reducing process redundancies, thus resulting in enhanced customer experience.
Mr Ranjiv Ramanathan, Senior Vice-President (Cargo) Air India SATS Cargo, pointed out, “The implementation of COSYS is a huge investment by the joint venture, and one that is required to ensure quicker processing of cargo at the new airport.”
